Why integrate NeuroTracker
into soccer training?

  • Improve tracking of teammates, opponents, and the ball: Soccer players must constantly monitor the positions of teammates, opponents, and the ball. This requires strong multi-object tracking skills to quickly adapt to fast-changing game situations.

  • Sharpen peripheral vision: Elite players rely on peripheral vision to stay aware of nearby opponents and open spaces without focusing solely on the ball. Enhanced peripheral awareness helps players create and react more effectively to scoring opportunities.

  • Develop anticipation and prediction: The best players don’t just react : they anticipate. Predicting an opponent’s next move or reading the flow of the game provides an advantage in intercepting passes and making better tactical decisions.

  • Enhance decision-making: In high-pressure moments, players must decide whether to pass, shoot, or dribble, often within a fraction of a second. Strong cognitive skills allow them to process multiple options instantly and confidently execute the best move.

How does a session work ?

The core of the program is based on a 3D multiple object tracking task:

  • Mechanism: During a session, the user sees eight spheres appear on the screen. Several spheres are briefly highlighted to indicate the targets to track. Once the cues disappear, all spheres move randomly within a virtual space, and the player must identify the originally highlighted spheres.

  • Adaptability: The program adjusts the speed of the spheres based on the user’s performance: if the response is correct, the speed increases; if incorrect, it decreases. This allows for a personalized training experience that adapts to each individual’s skill level.
